The Monterey Music Summit has always lived in the shadows. In its first year, it had to compete with the watershed Monterey Pop Festival for the "Best-At-The-Monterey Fairgrounds" title, let alone the ongoing prestige hoarding from that other famous festival that's always held at the Fairgrounds. Well, it might not have the same sort of history as those other Monterey festivals, but the Music Summit still provides quite a lineup over the third weekend in October.
